“Tom Selleck Urges CBS to Reverse ‘Blue Bloods’ Cancellation: ‘The Entire Cast Is Ready to Return'”

Tom Selleck isn’t ready to say goodbye to “Blue Bloods” just yet.

In a recent interview with CBS News, Selleck expressed hope that “CBS will come to their senses” and reverse its decision to end the police procedural with Season 14.

“We’re the third-highest scripted show on broadcast TV and still winning the night,” Selleck pointed out. “The entire cast is eager to return. We’re not just coasting—we’re producing strong episodes and maintaining our position. So, I’m left wondering why this is happening!”

Selleck has portrayed Commissioner Frank Reagan on “Blue Bloods” since the show’s debut in 2010. Last November, CBS announced that the series would conclude in the fall with a two-part season finale. Reflecting on his time with the show, Selleck said, “For the past 13 years, it’s been an honor to work on a series that not only honors the men and women who serve and protect in New York City but also highlights the importance of family. Working with this remarkable cast and crew has been a dream, and I’m grateful for over 275 episodes. We appreciate CBS Studios and CBS Network’s support and are deeply thankful to our fans who have joined us every Friday night.”

The mid-season finale of Season 14 will air on May 17 on CBS and Paramount+. The remaining eight episodes of the season are scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2024.
