“Tom Selleck Seen with Knee Surgery Scars at First Public Appearance Since ‘Blue Bloods’ Cancellation”

Tom Selleck was spotted publicly for the first time since the cancellation of Blue Bloods, and it appears the actor has recently undergone knee surgery. In Touch exclusively obtained a video and photos of Selleck leaving the gym on July 17, 2024, where he was seen with noticeable vertical scars on both knees.

The footage shows Tom struggling to walk after his workout. He paused in front of his truck, leaning on the hood for support, and took a moment to catch his breath before getting into the driver’s seat. Following his gym session, Selleck stopped at a McDonald’s drive-thru to grab a soda.

At 79, Selleck has had considerable downtime after Blue Bloods ended its 14-season run. The show’s final season wrapped up in May, and the cast filmed their last scenes in June. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach acknowledged the end of the series, noting, “We really want to thank the cast and crew, everyone involved in the show. We absolutely will miss the family dinners. It is important to give the show the sendoff it deserves.”

Fans will see the final episodes air in the fall of 2024. Since the show’s conclusion, Tom has been spending time with his wife, Jillie Mack, at their 65-acre ranch in California. He has also taken on various house projects that some find challenging for his age.

An insider shared, “Instead of enjoying his time off, he’s working himself into a sweat doing repairs on the house, tending to the land, and pitching himself into all sorts of postures a guy his age and size shouldn’t do. He should take it easy, but he won’t. He’s lifting and climbing and doing most, if not all, the fix-it jobs himself.” The source added that Tom’s family and friends are concerned about his safety and believe he should hire help.

In May, Tom released his memoir, You Never Know, where he discussed his unexpected journey into acting. He also expressed admiration for the late James Garner, who had a significant influence on his career.

Despite his success, including earning $200,000 per episode on Blue Bloods and accumulating a substantial net worth, Tom has faced some criticism. According to a source, “Despite Selleck’s claims of financial hardship, CBS higher-ups are aware of his impressive earnings over the years, which amounted to $56 million from the show alone, not including residuals from reruns.”
