The source also noted that Costner is struggling to find closure, particularly as he hears about Christine’s apparent happiness. Additionally, there are “strong suspicions” that Christine was involved with Josh Connor before their separation.

In an interview with CBS Mornings in June, Costner opened up about the mental toll of his divorce. “It’s powerful and it hurt. But I can’t wilt like a daisy. I have to go forward, I have to continue to be who I am and keep a special eye on who they are,” he explained.

Costner also addressed rumors about his relationship with singer Jewel during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show. “No, Jewel and I are friends. We’ve never gone out — ever. She’s special, and I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship,” he said. “She’s beautiful enough to go out with, but that’s not what we have. She’s beautiful and smart, but we’ve never dated.”

He added, “Richard Branson had been asking me for years to visit Necker Island, and I finally went. I’m divorced now, a single father, and he’s been inviting me for years.”
