“Tom Selleck Announces Season 15 of Blue Bloods Despite Cancellation Rumors”

Tom Selleck is setting the record straight about the future of Blue Bloods. In a recent interview with Country Living, Selleck clarified that the upcoming eight episodes will constitute the show’s 15th season, not a continuation of the 14th. “They announced this was going to be our last season, but I think CBS will come to their senses. What people don’t realize is that we’re going to do a 15th season,” Selleck explained. “We’re having a 10-episode season for the 14th due to the strike, and then we’ll have eight more episodes in the fall for our 15th season.”

Selleck expressed hope that CBS will reconsider, pointing out the show’s strong performance. “I hope CBS wakes up to the fact that we’re still leading the night on Fridays and doing well on Paramount Plus,” he said.

After CBS’s decision to end the show, Selleck has been vocal about the cancellation, urging the network to reconsider. When asked by CBS News if the show would end this fall, Selleck remained optimistic. “I continue to think that CBS will come to their senses. We’re the third-highest scripted show on broadcast, and we’re still doing well,” he said. “All the cast wants to return, and we’re making good shows that hold our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me!”

In January, Selleck shared a similar view with TV Insider, predicting that the show’s popularity would increase. “CBS will find that a lot of people aren’t ready to say goodbye. The show is more popular than ever, and we’re certainly not out of ideas,” he said.

At 79, Selleck isn’t ready to retire and remains dedicated to his role. “I’m not counting the days to do something else. I love the work. The hours can be tougher because of my age, but I’m here for as long as they’ll have me,” he added.
