“Tom Selleck’s Blue Bloods Left Out of CBS’s 2024 Renewals”

Tom Selleck’s Blue Bloods Set to End After 14 Seasons as CBS Announces Renewals

Tom Selleck’s Blue Bloods has long been celebrated as one of the standout series in the crime drama genre. Premiering on CBS in 2010, the show has followed the complex life of New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, who juggles his duties at work with family dynamics, including his children’s pursuits in law enforcement and law. After thirteen successful seasons, with an average of 20 episodes per season and one ongoing, it appears that the Reagan family’s story will soon conclude. CBS has confirmed that Blue Bloods is not among the three series renewed for the upcoming year, signaling the end of the show’s run.

Tom Selleck’s Blue Bloods Ending After 14 Seasons

Launched over a decade ago, Blue Bloods will wrap up after its upcoming fourteenth season. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios President David Stapf made the announcement in a joint statement, acknowledging the series’ significant impact on Friday night television.

In their statement, they praised the show’s long-standing success, describing it as a “pillar of our winning lineup” and a “beloved part of CBS’ legacy.” They also expressed gratitude to Leonard Goldberg, who developed the series, and to Tom Selleck and the rest of the cast for their enduring performances.

“We are deeply thankful for the visionary work of Leonard Goldberg and the incredible talent led by Tom Selleck,” the statement read. “The show will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we are excited for viewers to experience the final chapter of this remarkable series.”

The final season, consisting of 18 episodes, will be released in two parts: the first ten episodes began airing on February 16, 2024, with the remaining eight set to debut in the fall. The core cast, including Tom Selleck, Will Estes, Donnie Wahlberg, Andrew Terraciano, and Bridget Moynahan, will return for the concluding season.

CBS Renews Three Other Shows for 2024

While Blue Bloods will be concluding, CBS has renewed several other popular shows. According to Just Jared, the network has committed to continuing:

  • The Drew Barrymore Show through the 2024-2025 season.
  • The Young and The Restless, which has been renewed for an additional four years, extending its run until the 2027-2028 season.

These renewals highlight CBS’s ongoing support for its successful programs, even as Blue Bloods prepares to bid farewell.
