“Tom Selleck’s Financial Challenges as ‘Blue Bloods’ Winds Down”

Tom Selleck is bracing for the end of “Blue Bloods,” which wraps up in December. At 79, Selleck has portrayed NYC police commissioner Frank Reagan since 2010 and recently shared his feelings about the uncertainty of life after such a long-running role. “As an actor, you never shake the feeling that each job could be your last,” he admitted.

Despite his substantial net worth of around $45 million, Selleck revealed that maintaining his cherished 63-acre California avocado ranch requires ongoing financial effort. “Am I financially secure? Yes, but not necessarily with a sprawling ranch,” he said during an interview with CBS Sunday Morning while promoting his new memoir, You Never Know.

The ranch, which Selleck fell in love with after starring in the 1979 TV Western The Sacketts, has become his personal retreat. “It’s my paradise,” he said, though a source tells Closer that it’s a significant financial burden.

Selleck is actively advocating for CBS to reconsider ending the show, which also stars Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan. He argues that “Blue Bloods” remains a strong performer, ranking as the third-highest scripted show on broadcast television. “We’re still delivering great episodes and maintaining our position,” he said.

Selleck hopes fan support might persuade CBS to renew the series for a 15th season, similar to fan-driven revivals of shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Friday Night Lights. “It’s surprising to Tom that CBS decided to cancel Blue Bloods,” the insider shared. “There are still many stories left to tell, and it seems too soon to end it now.”
