“‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 Part 2 Reveals First Look After Nearly Two Years”

“Yellowstone” is making a comeback. The Paramount Network series has unveiled a first look at the highly anticipated second half of Season 5.

Created by Taylor Sheridan, the show first premiered in 2018 and has grown into a cable sensation, even airing reruns on CBS. The first half of Season 5, consisting of eight episodes, aired from November 2022 to January 2023. The final six episodes of the season are scheduled to premiere on November 10, 2024.

In December, it was reported that lead actor Kevin Costner would be leaving “Yellowstone” to concentrate on directing his two-part Western film “Horizon.” Costner confirmed his departure in June, coinciding with the underwhelming box office performance of “Horizon: Part One.” By September, Costner was in the news again, threatening legal action against the show’s producers during a child support hearing related to his divorce from Christine Baumgartner. He claimed he was owed $12 million for the second half of Season 5 due to a “pay or play” clause in his contract. Neither the studio nor the network has commented on Costner’s exit from the series.

Looking ahead, Paramount has greenlit a contemporary spinoff titled “The Madison,” featuring Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Elle Chapman, and Beau Garrett. There’s also speculation about a potential Season 6, which might focus on Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s characters.

Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, expressed confidence in the franchise’s future, stating, “’Yellowstone’ has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits—from ‘1883’ to ‘Tulsa King.’ I am confident our ‘Yellowstone’ sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life.”
