CBS Executives Reportedly Unhappy with Tom Selleck’s Comments on “Blue Bloods” Cancellation

According to Closer, CBS executives are reportedly enraged over Tom Selleck’s remarks following the announcement of “Blue Bloods” cancellation.

The 79-year-old actor has expressed concerns that the show’s end might push him into financial hardship, even suggesting he could lose his cherished 63-acre ranch in Ventura County, where he has lived since 1988.

CBS executives, however, are skeptical of Selleck’s claims. They are reportedly not impressed by his “poor house” rhetoric, given that he earned $200,000 per episode on “Blue Bloods,” totaling $56 million over the course of the series, not including residuals from reruns. The show, which began in 2010, has run for 14 seasons.

The network is particularly displeased because Selleck’s salary far exceeds that of other staff and crew members, many of whom earn less than $100,000 annually and face genuine financial uncertainty with the show’s conclusion.

Selleck has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the cancellation, questioning CBS’s decision despite the show’s strong ratings and loyal fan base. While there is potential for a spin-off or movie, Selleck’s comments may jeopardize any such prospects or his involvement in future projects.

The final episodes of “Blue Bloods” will air on CBS starting Friday, October 18 at 10 p.m. (ET), with the series finale scheduled for December.
