“‘Yellowstone’ Reveals First Look Photos from Season 5B—Kevin Costner Not Featured”

Paramount Network has just unveiled a first look at the second half of Yellowstone Season 5, but unfortunately, Kevin Costner’s return to the series isn’t part of the reveal.

The network released a collage of five images from the highly anticipated Western drama, which will return on November 10. The images include:

  1. Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) sharing an intimate moment as they overlook the Dutton Ranch.
  2. Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) on a porch with his wife, Monica (Kelsey Asbille), and their son, Tate (Brecken Merrill).
  3. Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) delivering a speech at a podium featuring the Montana state seal.
  4. Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) reviewing plans with his right-hand man, Mo (Mo Brings Plenty).
  5. Rip tenderly tucking in a child, presumably Carter (Finn Little).

The second half of Season 5 had been delayed after the first half concluded in January 2023, partly due to reported tensions between Costner, who played John Dutton, and co-creator Taylor Sheridan. Although both parties denied any discord, the return of the show was further postponed by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. Costner has confirmed he won’t be returning, and in May 2023, Paramount announced that the show would conclude with the second half of Season 5.

However, there’s speculation that Yellowstone might continue beyond Season 5, potentially with a sixth season featuring Hauser and Reilly. The situation around the show is as unpredictable as ever, reminiscent of the wild bucking horse that threw Jimmy in Season 2.

Additionally, a new spinoff titled The Madison is in development, featuring Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Fox. Set to follow a New York family that relocates to Montana, this new series was announced shortly after Paramount confirmed a second season for the Yellowstone prequel 1923, which stars Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford, and Brandon Sklenar.
