Tom Selleck Reportedly Recovering from Major Surgery

Tom Selleck, known for his roles in “Blue Bloods” and “Magnum P.I.,” appears to be recovering from significant knee surgery. On July 17, InTouch captured footage of the actor leaving a gym with visible vertical scars on both knees, leading to speculation that he underwent surgery on both legs. Selleck has not publicly confirmed the procedure, and his representatives have not commented on the report as of July 29.

Health Rumors and Concerns

In recent years, there have been persistent rumors regarding Selleck’s health. Tabloids have frequently claimed he suffers from conditions such as “crippling arthritis.” For example, Radar reported in July 2023 that Selleck was in “constant pain,” a claim his representatives have firmly denied.

The footage of Selleck’s knee scars has heightened concerns about his health. An insider quoted by The National Enquirer has expressed worries about the 79-year-old actor’s vigorous approach to home maintenance. According to the source, Selleck has been engaging in demanding tasks around his home, including repairs and land maintenance, which might pose risks given his age. “He should take it easy, but he won’t,” the insider said. “He’s lifting and climbing and doing most, if not all, the fix-it jobs himself. Many feel he’s taking too many chances because at his age, a fall could result in serious injury.”

Returning to ‘Blue Bloods’

Despite health concerns, Tom Selleck is set to return to television this fall. He will reprise his role as NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan in “Blue Bloods,” a role that has earned him considerable acclaim. The series, which has been a staple on CBS since 2010, will kick off its 14th season on October 18. This season will mark the end of a significant chapter for “Blue Bloods,” as the show prepares to conclude its long-running run.
