Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon Reunite at Venice Gala 36 Years After “Bull Durham”

Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon, who starred opposite each other in the 1988 baseball film Bull Durham, reunited at the Better World Fund Gala in Venice, Italy on Thursday.

The 69-year-old actor looked dapper in a black suit with a crisp white shirt and glossy shoes, while Susan, 77, dazzled in a black jumpsuit featuring a plunging neckline, a black leather belt, and an intricate statement necklace. She complemented her look with a bold red lip, a half-up hairstyle with curled bangs, and subtle blush and eyeliner.

Both Kevin and Susan were honored guests at the gala. They played love interests in Bull Durham, which follows a fan who has an affair with a minor-league baseball player each season, eventually meeting an up-and-coming pitcher and the seasoned catcher assigned to him.

Currently, Kevin is focused on his film Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter Two, which he directed, produced, co-wrote, and stars in. The film, part of a four-part epic Western series exploring the American West, is set to premiere on Saturday at the Venice Film Festival. Despite his extensive investment of $38 million of his own funds and significant personal sacrifices, the first chapter received critical backlash and struggled at the box office, leading to an indefinite delay of Chapter Two’s theatrical release.

Kevin shares three children with his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner—Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 14. The couple was married from 2004 until their divorce was finalized earlier this year. Additionally, he has three grown children, Annie, 40, Lily, 38, and Joe, 36, from his previous marriage to Cindy Silva, and a son, Liam, 27, with ex Bridget Rooney.
