“Tom Selleck, 79, Unveils New Look with Full Beard Following Blue Bloods Cancellation”

Tom Selleck, now 79, was recently spotted in California looking quite different from his familiar TV persona. The actor, known for his iconic roles in “Friends” and “Blue Bloods,” appeared with grey hair and a full, bushy beard, marking a significant departure from his character on the hit detective drama.

Following the end of “Blue Bloods,” which has wrapped its final season, Selleck has embraced a more relaxed style. On this outing, he wore a simple navy blue t-shirt under a matching linen shirt, paired with black shorts and trainers. He was seen carrying a file, possibly containing paperwork, and made a stop at McDonald’s where he enjoyed a burger in his car.

The cancellation of “Blue Bloods” has allowed Selleck to shift focus to his personal life. He plans to spend more time with his wife of 41 years, Jillie, on their 63-acre ranch in Ventura County, California. The couple, who purchased the property in 1988, raised their daughter Hannah there and are now looking forward to their retirement years amid the serenity of their rural home.

Selleck, who is an avid ATV rider, enjoys tending to his wildflowers on the ranch. He revealed that he carefully plans the blooming cycles of his flowers, ensuring a continuous display of color throughout the seasons.

Despite his fame, Selleck is not one to binge-watch TV shows and prefers to unwind with “a cigar and a glass of whiskey” after a long day. Reflecting on his life, he expressed gratitude for his successful career and personal life, saying, “I’ve had a very good life, a very lucky life. I don’t know if it’s what I figured I’d be doing, but it’s with a lot of gratitude.”
