How Much Is Tom Selleck Paid for His Role on Blue Bloods?

Since CBS announced the end of Blue Bloods last winter, much has been speculated, especially after series star Tom Selleck voiced his desire to keep the show going. Reports suggest that Selleck’s motivation may include maintaining his lavish avocado farm, but the key question remains: how much does Selleck make for his role as Frank Reagan?

According to a report from Closer, Selleck’s salary has been a topic of interest. Despite his public appeal for CBS to reconsider canceling the show and renew it for a 15th season, the network is well aware of his substantial earnings. Selleck reportedly earned $200,000 per episode, which totals an impressive $56 million over the show’s entire run, not including residuals from reruns.

With 285 episodes aired so far and the final season adding six more, bringing the total to 293 episodes, Selleck’s earnings are significant. For the final split season, cast and crew agreed to a 25% salary cut to keep the show going. This means Selleck likely earned $150,000 per episode for the last 18 episodes, totaling $2.7 million for that period alone.

Initially, Selleck’s salary might have been lower, gradually increasing to the $200,000 mark. Nonetheless, even if his earnings were lower in earlier seasons, the figures are substantial. For comparison, if Selleck—or any cast member—had been paid $50,000 per episode throughout the series, the total would amount to $14.65 million. Given Selleck’s likely higher rate, his overall earnings are undoubtedly impressive.

In short, even amid budget cuts and negotiations, Selleck’s compensation reflects the high value of a lead role in a long-running network TV series.
