“Tom Selleck Looks Different After ‘Blue Bloods’ End”

Tom Selleck Criticizes CBS After ‘Blue Bloods’ Cancellation, Debuts New Look

Tom Selleck has openly expressed his dissatisfaction with CBS’s decision to cancel his popular TV show Blue Bloods. Despite his discontent, it appears he’s moving forward. Recently, Selleck was spotted in Thousand Oaks, California, and his appearance was strikingly different from his iconic role on the show.

Tom Selleck’s New Look

For most of the past decade, Tom Selleck portrayed Police Commissioner Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods, typically seen in a police uniform or a classic suit, complemented by his signature mustache. However, in a recent sighting, the 79-year-old actor looked quite different. He was casually dressed in a loose-fitting black T-shirt, a navy blue button-down shirt, and black athletic shorts. His gray beard was noticeably bushy, and his hair was unkempt, a stark contrast to his former polished look. Adding to the casual vibe, Selleck was enjoying a meal at McDonald’s, reflecting a laid-back day rather than any formal event.

What’s Next for Blue Bloods?

Tom Selleck has been vocal about his frustration with CBS’s decision to cancel Blue Bloods, especially given that the show was the highest-rated series on Friday nights. Despite the strong viewership, CBS opted to revamp their lineup, focusing on new projects. The network’s decision to replace Blue Bloods with newer shows like Fire Country—which has gained significant popularity—was part of a broader strategy to refresh their programming slate.

Alongside Blue Bloods, other shows such as CSI: Vegas and NCIS: Hawai’i were also cut, with CBS emphasizing the need for new content over maintaining existing fan favorites. The network has introduced Sheriff Country, a spinoff of Fire Country, featuring Morena Baccarin as Sheriff Mickey Fox.

Selleck has voiced his confusion over the cancellation, questioning the network’s decision given the show’s strong performance. “We’re the third-highest show in all of broadcast,” he remarked. “We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. I can tell you this: We aren’t sliding off a cliff; we’re doing good shows. And still holding our place. So I don’t know. You tell me.”
