“Tom Selleck and Larry Manetti Reunite from ‘Magnum P.I.’ on ‘Blue Bloods'”

“Magnum P.I.” stars Tom Selleck and Larry Manetti recently sparked nostalgia among fans with a heartwarming mini-reunion. The duo reunited on the set of Selleck’s current show, “Blue Bloods,” where Manetti is guest-starring.

Donnie Wahlberg, Selleck’s co-star on “Blue Bloods,” shared the moment on Instagram with a caption celebrating the reunion. “#MagnumMonday! It’s a mini Magnum PI reunion on the set of #BlueBloods this week, featuring guest star Larry Manetti and Tom Selleck together again. Wish the late greats Roger E. Mosley and John Hillerman could be here too,” Wahlberg wrote. The photo featured Selleck and Manetti beaming with joy alongside current “Blue Bloods” cast members such as Vanessa Ray, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and Andrew Terraciano.

Selleck, 78, wore a dark grey vest over a black shirt, while Manetti, 75, sported a beige cardigan layered with a brown leather jacket and a black scarf. Wahlberg also honored the late “Magnum P.I.” stars Roger E. Mosley and John Hillerman. Mosley passed away in August 2022 due to injuries from a car accident that left him paralyzed; he was 83. Hillerman died in November 2017 at the age of 84, following a period of declining health.

Manetti, who portrayed Orville “Rick” Wright on “Magnum P.I.” from 1980 to 1988, last appeared alongside Selleck over three decades ago. In his “Blue Bloods” guest role, Manetti will play a retired cop who confronts a young man for selling drugs to his grandson, according to “Entertainment Tonight.”

Following his time on “Magnum P.I.,” Manetti made guest appearances on shows such as “Walker, Texas Ranger” and appeared in reboots of “Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum P.I.” as Nicky “The Kid” Demarco.
