Tom Selleck’s BLUE BLOODS Co-Stars Share Their Admiration for Him: Here’s What They Had to Say

As Season 14 of BLUE BLOODS resumes on October 18, the cast is eager to share their thoughts on Tom Selleck, who portrays NYC Commissioner Frank Reagan.

Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny Reagan, emphasized Selleck’s dedication: “His commitment to the show is immense. He works behind the scenes on post-production and script development, treating the show with the seriousness it deserves. He embodies Frank Reagan, both for the NYPD and the Reagan family.”

Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin Reagan, remarked, “Tom gives 100% to everyone, whether it’s Donnie, me, or a guest star with just a couple of scenes. He’s always present, respectful, and welcoming, making it a pleasure to work with him.”

Will Estes added, “I don’t think we’d still be here without him; he’s kept the show’s core intact.”

Vanessa Ray described her first encounter with Selleck: “There’s something about him that strikes you. He’s a giant presence with a gentle voice, making you feel like you can laugh or cry in his company. He’s incredibly present and always supportive.”

Sami Gayle expressed her gratitude for Selleck’s mentorship: “He taught me so much that I could write a book! From the importance of timing in comedy to how crucial it is to watch yourself in editing, those lessons have made me a better actor.”

Robert Clohessy praised Selleck’s professionalism: “He always gives 200%. His commitment pushes everyone to do their best.”

Abigail Hawk recalled her awe during her first day on set: “Tom truly is The Brawny Man incarnate!”

Andrew Terraciano highlighted Selleck’s work ethic: “He exemplifies hard work and love for what you do. He comes prepared, having read and analyzed his script, and then lightens the mood with jokes.”

His brother, Tony Terraciano, called Selleck a “role model,” noting his preparedness and willingness to help others improve their performances.

The upcoming episode, “The Heart of a Saturday Night,” involves Detective Danny Reagan and Lt. Sid Gormley trying to rein in a rogue detective, while Jamie and Eddie go undercover on their anniversary. Frank Reagan also grapples with family tensions regarding a fallen officer’s legacy.

This episode stands out in a season filled with suspense, heartfelt moments, and inspirational Christian themes. However, it contains some mature content, so viewer discretion is advised.

Selleck reflected on the series concluding after 13 years, stating, “It’s been an honor to work on a show that honors those who protect and serve in New York City while celebrating the importance of family. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of this remarkable group and thankful to CBS and the fans who have supported us every Friday night.”
