“Awkward Moment: Richard Marx Overlooks Prince Harry at Kevin Costner’s Charity Event”

The “Don’t Mean Nothing” singer, Richard Marx, performed at the One805!Live concert on Friday, a charity event hosted by Kevin Costner. In a humorous moment, he accidentally overlooked Prince Harry as he exited the stage, missing the royal’s attempt to congratulate him.

Fortunately, someone alerted Marx, leading to an introduction between the two. In a clip shared by Marx’s wife, Daisy Fuentes, on her Instagram story, you can hear a bystander say, “Richard? Prince Harry,” as they shake hands. Harry praises Marx with a friendly, “Hey! Well done!” before the clip concludes.

Fuentes also posted two photos of the singer chatting with the Duke of Sussex. Notably, Meghan Markle was absent from the event due to illness; she typically attends alongside her husband.

The annual event celebrates first responders in the Santa Barbara area, raising funds for local firefighters and police. Costner hosted the gathering at his picturesque oceanside estate, with other stars in attendance including Rob Lowe, Jeff Bridges, and Pink.

During the event, Prince Harry presented an award to local pilot Loren Courtney. As they chatted, Harry joked about the time Courtney dedicated to his flying career, noting, “22 years of military service over 10,000 hours, and rarely sees his family because he’s always here flying helicopters.” Courtney explained his commitment, emphasizing the rewarding nature of his work in search and rescue missions.

He recounted a particularly memorable rescue in Colorado, where they helped a skier who had fallen from a 30-foot embankment. “I learned in the military, you never leave anybody behind. We got him out. He spent almost a year in intensive care, and now he’s walking and recently got married,” Courtney shared.

Harry humorously asked, “You didn’t have to rescue him again, did you?” He continued, thanking Courtney and the other heroes in attendance, saying, “There are people here tonight who are alive because of you… from everybody here, thank you so much.”

Additionally, Harry presented musician Kenny Loggins with the Heart of the Community Award.

On a personal note, Prince Harry celebrated his 40th birthday on September 15, receiving well wishes from the Prince and Princess of Wales on social media.
