“Blue Bloods Set to Conclude: Long-Running Series Will End in December”

Tom Selleck recently expressed concern that many fans aren’t ready to say goodbye to Blue Bloods, but CBS has confirmed that the series will conclude after its 14th and final season.

During a press conference discussing the fall lineup, Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach acknowledged the network’s sadness over the show’s end but confirmed it would not extend beyond the current season. The first half of the 14th season premiered on February 16, with the second half set to return in October. “We want to thank the entire cast and crew for their dedication,” Reisenbach stated. “We will certainly miss those family dinners. It’s important to give the show a fitting farewell.”

When asked about the cast’s appeals to reconsider the cancellation, Reisenbach responded, “We appreciate the cast and their passion. However, all shows must eventually conclude, and we need to refresh our schedule. The series will wrap up in December.”

Blue Bloods, which has been on CBS since September 24, 2010, follows the fictional Reagan family, a lineage of Irish-Catholic law enforcement members in New York City. Upon the announcement of the final season, Selleck shared his heartfelt gratitude with fans: “For the past 13 years, it’s been an honor to work on a show that celebrates the brave men and women who protect New York City while emphasizing the significance of family. I’m thankful to have been part of this incredible team for over 275 episodes.”
