“Tom Selleck and Larry Manetti Reunite for a Nostalgic Magnum P.I. Moment on Blue Bloods”
Thomas Magnum and Orville “Rick” Wright Reunite!
Tom Selleck and his former Magnum P.I. co-star Larry Manetti shared a delightful reunion on Selleck’s current series, Blue Bloods. Donnie Wahlberg, Selleck’s co-star on the CBS cop drama, posted a photo on Instagram featuring the cast, including Manetti. He captioned it, “It’s a mini Magnum P.I. reunion on the set of #BlueBloods this week, with guest star Larry Manetti and Tom Selleck — together again. Wishing the late greats Roger E. Mosley and John Hillerman could be here, too.”
From 1980 to 1989, Manetti played Rick Wright, one of Magnum’s closest friends and the owner of the King Kamehameha Club, a favorite hangout for the titular character. Hillerman, who portrayed the sophisticated and often exasperated Jonathan Quayle Higgins III, passed away in 2017 at the age of 84. Mosley, who played helicopter pilot Theodore “T.C.” Calvin, died last year at 83.
Manetti has previously appeared as Nicky “The Kid” DeMarco in two episodes of the Magnum P.I. reboot, a character he originally played in the Hawaii Five-O reboot. In his latest Blue Bloods episode, he portrays a retired cop who confronts a young man responsible for selling fentanyl-laced pills to his grandson.
