“‘Yellowstone’ Cast Details: High Security and Redacted Scripts for Episodes Without Kevin Costner”

A new behind-the-scenes featurette for “Yellowstone” has been released, revealing just how high security measures have been on set, with actors joking about being sent to the “train station” if they revealed any secrets.

The intense clip mixes brief glimpses of show footage with interviews from the cast and crew discussing the making of the highly anticipated second half of the fifth season, set to premiere on the Paramount Network on November 10. This season marks the first episodes without series star Kevin Costner, who opted out due to slow script production and commitments to his “Horizon” film series.

The promo begins with lighthearted moments on set. Cole Hauser, who portrays Rip, shares, “This year, there were fun times on set. This is the greatest office in the world.” Kelly Reilly, who plays his love interest Beth, adds, “We’ve just been shooting, and I feel so grateful. There’s a lot of laughter on our set.”

However, the tone shifts as script security becomes a topic of discussion. With fans eager to see how Costner’s character will be written off, the cast is clearly focused on keeping details under wraps until the premiere.

“This season has been very secretive,” says Kelsey Asbille, who plays Monica. Director Christina Voros comments in a voiceover, “There was a lot of security around the script and the narrative.” Jennifer Landon, who plays Teeter, adds, “We get these redacted scripts. Basically, everything is blacked out except for your lines.”

Voros emphasizes the crew’s adaptability, stating, “It’s a huge testament to the intrepidness of the crew. You’ve learned how to do something a certain way for seven years, and suddenly you face new challenges in protecting the story for the audience.”

Among the new footage, a striking image shows Beth looking despondent, hinting that it may not bode well for Costner’s character, John. Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce, reinforces the emotional weight of the upcoming episodes, concluding the footage by stating that the show “brought me to tears.”
