Tom Selleck Enjoys Family Support as Blue Bloods Nears Its End
Tom Selleck is surrounded by family during the final season of Blue Bloods! The actor appeared alongside his wife, Jillie Mack, and daughter Hannah Selleck at PaleyFest 2024 at The Paley Museum in New York City on October 17, just a day before the premiere of the second half of season 14, marking the show’s concluding chapter.
In May, a source revealed to Closer that Tom was hopeful fans would rally to save the series, expressing confusion over CBS’s decision to cancel it. “It doesn’t make sense to Tom that they pulled the plug,” the insider shared. “There are still many storylines to explore, and it feels premature. It would be a shame to let it go.”
Despite his hopes, Tom has openly shared his frustration about the show’s conclusion. During the event, he sported longer hair, a departure from his character Frank Reagan’s traditional shorter hairstyle.
Tom posed for photos with Jillie and Hannah, both beaming with pride for his accomplishments. Reflecting on the end of the series, Tom expressed, “My frustration is that the show was always taken for granted because it performed well from the start. It’s going to take time to process all of this.” He recalled planning for his next day’s dialogue after filming the final scenes, only to realize there would be no more Mondays to prepare for.
He was also joined by his Blue Bloods castmates on the red carpet, sharing that he would miss the camaraderie among them the most as the series wraps up. “The bond between the cast is as strong as the Reagan family on-screen,” Tom noted. “Everyone wanted to return, which is rare in television; we’ve overcome any jealousy or issues.”
Getting emotional, Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny Reagan, shared a touching moment from the set. “Tom was standing in the back corner, watching the final scenes with tears in his eyes. It was truly moving,” he recalled during an appearance on Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live.
