“Tom Selleck Reflects on Missing the ‘Blue Bloods’ Cast and Crew After CBS Wraps Up the Show with Season 14”

Tom Selleck is just days away from celebrating his 80th birthday, and despite the conclusion of Blue Bloods, the legendary TV star shows no signs of slowing down.

A source close to the actor exclusively shared that Tom is already feeling the absence of his Blue Bloods cast and crew. “He definitely misses them and has expressed interest in continuing the franchise,” the insider revealed. “Tom would be open to a spinoff or even a TV movie.”

The hit police procedural wrapped up its final episode on December 13, 2024, with Tom’s character, Frank Reagan, receiving the joyful news that he would soon be a grandfather as Jamie Reagan and Eddie Janko-Reagan announced their pregnancy. Although the show has come to an end after 14 seasons, Tom, now 79, confessed that saying goodbye to the series has been far from easy.

“The hardest part for me right now is that, at this time of year, I would be filming Blue Bloods, and I miss it,” Tom said on December 14, 2024. “What I miss the most is the family of actors we had and the friendships we built. It feels like a high school graduation. You promise to stay in touch, but then life moves on. That’s what happens in movies too. You work with people, form bonds, and then it’s over.”

For Tom, the end of Blue Bloods is even more emotional because of the deep connections he formed with his castmates over the years.

“This one’s more complicated,” he reflected. “It was a 15-year relationship with most of those people, and that doesn’t just disappear overnight. It’s hard. With movies, you think, ‘Let’s keep in touch,’ but then everyone gets busy or works somewhere else, and time passes. But this… this is a bigger adjustment.”
