“Tom Selleck Marks 80th Birthday with Wife Jillie, 67, After Solo Drive-Thru Lunch”
Tom Selleck celebrated his 80th birthday on Wednesday with a special dinner surrounded by his family and close friends at Tuscany il Ristorante in Thousand Oaks, California. The Blue Bloods actor was joined by his wife, Jillie Mack, 67, their daughter, Hannah, 36, and other loved ones for a memorable evening.
Earlier in the day, however, Tom was spotted enjoying a solo drive-thru lunch at McDonald’s, where he appeared to be spending some quiet time by himself. Later that evening, he was seen leaving the restaurant with his family after closing hours, sharing hugs and saying their goodbyes. Tom was holding a gift box and walked hand-in-hand with his wife as they made their way to their car.
For the special occasion, Tom kept things casual yet stylish, donning a pair of classic denim jeans paired with a dark red button-up shirt. He added a tan blazer and a jacket to the look, finishing it off with brown shoes. Jillie looked equally chic in a striped dress and a tan jacket to mark the occasion.
The couple, who married in 1987, welcomed their daughter, Hannah, in 1988. During Tom’s previous marriage to Jacqueline Ray, he also adopted her son, Kevin. In a 2024 interview with People, Tom spoke fondly of his long-lasting marriage to Jillie, praising their deep friendship and her wonderful sense of humor. The couple resides on a ranch in Ventura County, which Tom visits regularly while filming Blue Bloods.
The dinner came just hours after Tom’s solo McDonald’s outing, where he was seen flashing a smile while placing his order in a black zip-up jacket. Despite the more low-key meal earlier in the day, Tom enjoyed a lively and loving celebration later that evening.
As Tom turned another year older, he recently shared that he doesn’t pay much attention to birthdays anymore. “I stopped celebrating birthdays a while back,” he said. “I intend to keep working.” Tom also opened up about his future plans, revealing he’s not ready to retire yet. While Blue Bloods wrapped up after 14 seasons, with the final episode airing in December 2024, Tom has expressed interest in continuing his work, including reprising his role as Frank Reagan in a potential Blue Bloods spin-off. However, he hasn’t received any offers yet.
Reflecting on the show’s unexpected cancellation, Tom admitted he felt frustrated. “I’m kind of frustrated,” he said. “There was still more story to tell.” He pointed out that Blue Bloods remained incredibly successful, ranking #9 in total viewers in 2023-2024, and #6 if you exclude the top three football shows. Despite the disappointment, Tom remains optimistic about the future and is open to new opportunities.
Tom’s impressive career has also included memorable roles in Friends, Three Men and a Baby, Quigley Down Under, and the Jesse Stone films. Looking ahead, he expressed a desire to return to comedy, saying he enjoys the balance of humor and emotion seen in projects like Friends and Three Men and a Baby.
