New Book Alleges British Royal Tried to Seduce Kevin Costner

It feels like a new royal tell-all hits the shelves every few months, revealing everything from heartwarming anecdotes to jaw-dropping secrets. The latest to stir the pot? A new book that claims Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, once had a serious crush on Hollywood star Kevin Costner.

The upcoming book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by royal biographer Andrew Lownie, alleges that after her rumored infatuation with John F. Kennedy Jr., Ferguson set her sights on Costner. According to Lownie, her next “amorous obsession” was the Bodyguard actor, who had recently finalized his divorce from Cindy Silva in 1994. Ferguson allegedly tried to win him over with a series of provocative phone calls — or as Lownie puts it, “plagued” him with “raunchy” conversations.

Costner, however, reportedly didn’t reciprocate the interest. He’s said to have confided in friends, calling Ferguson “a woman crying out for love.”

While Lownie doesn’t clarify how the two first met, it’s known that Ferguson helped connect Costner with Princess Diana when he was developing a sequel to The Bodyguard — a film that ultimately never came to fruition. Ferguson even sent Diana a copy of the script.

As of now, neither Ferguson nor Costner have responded publicly to the claims made in the book.
