Kevin Costner recently made a rare red carpet appearance — and it wasn’t just about his latest film, but also a heartfelt family moment. The 70-year-old actor was joined by three of his seven children — Hayes Logan Costner (15), Grace Avery Costner (14), and Cayden Wyatt Costner (17) — as they celebrated the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 at the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Costner has made no secret of his commitment to both his career and his family. His decision to leave Yellowstone during Season 5 — ultimately leading to his character being written off — was driven by his passion for the Horizon film series, a sweeping Western saga he has been developing for years. That dedication paid off when Chapter 2, the second film in the planned four-part series, debuted at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on September 7, 2024. But the Santa Barbara premiere held special significance.

“Getting to make @horizonamericansaga Chapter 2’s American premiere at home in Santa Barbara was as special as I’d hoped it would be,” Costner shared in a heartfelt Instagram reel. “I got to be surrounded by my family, friends, and so many of the cast and crew that poured their hearts into these films. @officialsbiff and the Santa Barbara crowd made me feel like a giant, and I’m feeling as honored as ever to get to share this story with all of you.”

While fans are eager for the next installment of the Western epic, many were just as moved by Costner’s show of fatherly pride. Comments poured in on social media praising his devotion to his children. “What a lovely brood you have, God bless you all,” one fan wrote. “Absolutely adore this. It’s heartwarming.
