All About Kevin Costner’s 7 Children — Cherished by the ‘Yellowstone’ Star

Kevin Costner’s 7 Children: Inside the Actor’s Loving Life as a Devoted Dad

Kevin Costner, the acclaimed Yellowstone and Field of Dreams star, is not only known for his Hollywood career but also for being a proud father of seven. Over the years, he’s built a close-knit, blended family, full of love, memories, and mutual respect.

Costner shares his first three children—Annie, Lily, and Joe—with ex-wife Cindy Silva. He welcomed his fourth child, Liam, with Bridget Rooney, and later had three more—Cayden, Hayes, and Grace—with ex-wife Christine Baumgartner.

“All of my kids are showered with love, which is what’s important,” he once shared with Good Housekeeping. “I didn’t have much as a child, but I thought I had everything. I’ve always taught my kids that they have to work hard and stand on their own two feet.”

Becoming a father in 1984 and welcoming his youngest in 2010, Costner has embraced parenting across decades. He’s spoken openly about adapting his approach to each child’s unique personality: “You love them all the same, but they are all different… you have to adjust to their individuality.” Despite the challenges of gathering all seven kids at once, Costner prioritizes family time—making memories whenever possible.

Here’s a closer look at each of Kevin Costner’s children:

Annie Costner

Born April 15, 1984, in Los Angeles, Annie is Costner’s first child with Cindy Silva. She appeared in several of her father’s projects as a child, including Dances With Wolves and The Baby-Sitters Club. Today, she’s a successful producer and co-founder of Sound Off Films, working on projects like Katy Perry’s Witness tour documentary. Annie married Danny Cox in 2016 on her father’s estate in Carpinteria, California.

Lily Costner

Lily, born August 4, 1986, followed in her sister’s and father’s footsteps with early acting roles. But it’s her musical talent that truly stands out. She’s performed alongside her dad and his band, Kevin Costner & Modern West, including a duet on Yellowstone. While Costner says she could be a star, he notes Lily prefers a more grounded lifestyle.

Joe Costner

Joe was born on January 31, 1988, and also had small film roles growing up. He now works behind the scenes as a sound engineer in Hollywood. Costner praises Joe for being grounded and having a strong circle of friends: “You can judge how well he’s doing in life by the quality of his friends.”

Liam Costner

Liam, born in November 1996, is Costner’s son with Bridget Rooney. Raised largely outside the public eye, Liam has remained private, with little media exposure. His mother later married billionaire businessman Bill Koch, and Liam is the grandson of former Steelers owner Dan Rooney.

Cayden Wyatt Costner

Cayden was born on May 6, 2007, to Costner and Baumgartner. Becoming a father again at 52, Costner initially hesitated but eventually embraced parenthood with open arms. “I decided that I was not going to miss out on love,” he told Parade. As a teen, Cayden has begun appearing at events with his dad, including the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Horizon: An American Saga.

Hayes Logan Costner

Born on February 12, 2009, Hayes shares his dad’s love for the Western genre—he was even named with that theme in mind. Hayes plays sports like baseball and volleyball and made his acting debut in Horizon: An American Saga. Costner said working with Hayes was “magical,” and Hayes called it “an unforgettable moment in time” they got to share.

Grace Avery Costner

Grace, the youngest of the Costner clan, was born on June 2, 2010. She’s known for being her dad’s “girly girl,” enjoying dancing and sewing but also joining her brothers for backyard sports. Costner shared that she quickly notices his changing movie looks, joking, “Daddy’s been fighting again, huh?” when he came home with a rugged haircut.

Despite their different paths, all seven of Kevin Costner’s children share one thing in common: a father who deeply values connection, respect, and being present. Whether on the red carpet or at home, Costner continues to prioritize what matters most—family.
