Isabelle Fuhrman’s Candid ‘Horizon’ Reveal Highlights Kevin Costner’s Biggest Blunder: “We’re in the Same Boat”

Isabelle Fuhrman Opens Up About ‘Horizon’ Confusion, Revealing Kevin Costner’s Biggest Misstep and Cast Left in the Dark

Isabelle Fuhrman didn’t hold back when discussing Horizon, and in doing so, she may have just revealed Kevin Costner’s biggest mistake. The Orphan star spoke candidly about feeling completely lost on set, admitting she was “in the same boat” as many of her fellow cast members. This behind-the-scenes chaos paints a revealing picture of Costner’s ambitious multi-part Western.

While Costner clearly had a grand vision for Horizon: An American Saga, it seems the execution left even his own cast scrambling for direction. Fuhrman’s brutally honest comments serve as an early warning sign that Costner probably didn’t want surfacing during the film’s rollout.

Isabelle Fuhrman Calls Out Horizon’s Chaos: Even She Was Left Clueless

Kevin Costner may have poured his heart and wallet into Horizon, but Isabelle Fuhrman suggests that a major misstep is now haunting the project — leaving even the cast in the dark.

Fuhrman, who plays Diamond in the Western saga, admitted:

“No, I wish. I’m in the same boat as you. I really hope that we get to see the second one. I have no clue what Kevin’s planning, but he’s probably planning something. And, yeah, no, I’m a really big fan of the second film.”

She went on to explain that the sequel delves much deeper into the experiences of women during that era, saying it:

“…really captures so much more of the women of that time period, and what was kind of going on for them, more so than the first one, which I feel like sets up this whole world.”

In other words — even Fuhrman has no clear idea what’s next for the saga.

Horizon was intended to be Costner’s four-part epic, but after Chapter 1 underperformed at the box office (earning under $40 million on a $50 million budget), the future quickly grew uncertain. Chapter 2 premiered at festivals but has now been put on indefinite hold. Chapter 3 was supposed to begin filming in spring 2025, but Fuhrman hasn’t heard a thing.

She added:

“I really hope that people will see the second one when it comes out, and it gives us the opportunity to make the third one. But, right now, I’m starting another project, and I’m just hoping that I get that call from Kevin sometime soon. [Chuckles] It’d be great!”

If fans never get to see the follow-up, much of the story’s depth may remain buried. Critics haven’t helped either — Chapter 2 currently holds a lukewarm 54% on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite Costner’s Western credentials, audiences didn’t show up, and excitement has fizzled. Now, Fuhrman is moving on while Horizon’s future remains uncertain. Costner’s silence could be his biggest mistake yet.

Isabelle Fuhrman Teases Orphan 3 — Esther’s Story Isn’t Over

On a brighter note, Isabelle Fuhrman is gearing up for an exciting return as Esther in Orphan 3. The Orphan star revealed the script is “fantastic” and confirmed the third installment is in early development.

Fuhrman, fresh from her first horror convention, said:

“It’s early stages, but it’s definitely rumbling. I just went to my first horror convention, I think it was two or three weeks ago, and it was so cool to meet so many fans of Orphan. People dressed up, came from all over to see me, and to talk to me about the movie, and ask questions. For me, it feels like such a great thing to make another film for the fans because they seem to really want it.”

Orphan: First Kill surprised audiences in 2022 with its twisty, high-energy take, proving the franchise still has plenty of life left. Now, the third film, greenlit in 2024, is slowly moving forward with director William Brent Bell and writer David Coggeshall on board.

While the plot remains under wraps, with 30 years between First Kill and Orphan 3, fans can expect Leena to become even messier, meaner, and more unhinged.
