Kevin Costner’s Mystery Woman Identified — And It’s Good News for Jennifer Lopez
Kevin Costner, the eligible bachelor, raised some eyebrows after being spotted out with a mystery woman on Monday. But those curious about his love life can now breathe a sigh of relief.
The woman in question is actually Costner’s long-time assistant. She has worked for him for two years, and their recent outings were simply business lunches. She was also seen with the 70-year-old actor earlier this month at the upscale Erewhon supermarket in Calabasas.
Costner is currently single following his divorce from Christine Baumgartner, 51. Recently, rumors swirled about a potential romance between him and Jennifer Lopez, 55. The speculation began when the two were seen sharing a drink in December at the western apparel store Kemo Sabe in Aspen, Colorado.
Despite their seemingly innocent meeting, fans wondered if something romantic might be brewing, especially since Lopez has been a known superfan of Costner’s hit series Yellowstone. Interestingly, Lopez’s ex-husband Ben Affleck once confessed on The Bill Simmons Podcast in March 2023 that he found her attachment to Yellowstone unsettling.
Adding a twist, Lopez was reportedly more interested in someone like Rip Wheeler—the rugged character played by Cole Hauser—rather than Costner himself. Hauser, a longtime friend of Affleck, co-starred with him in films like Dazed and Confused and Good Will Hunting.
Costner left Yellowstone before the second half of its fifth and final season, amid reported disagreements with showrunner Taylor Sheridan and pay disputes. His character, John Dutton, was killed off in the midseason premiere of season 5B, and the series wrapped up last year to mixed reviews.
On a personal note, Costner has endured a difficult period since his wife Christine filed for divorce in May 2023. Their contentious split, which involved disputes over assets and a prenuptial agreement, was finalized in February 2024.
Despite being seen with his assistant recently, sources say Costner is not seriously involved with anyone at the moment and isn’t actively seeking a relationship. Instead, he is focusing on enjoying time with friends and family.
Kevin is the proud father of seven children: Annie (41), Lily (38), Joe (37), Liam (28), Cayden (17), Hayes (16), and Grace (14). He shares his three youngest kids with Christine Baumgartner.
Last year, Costner also put an end to rumors of a romance with singer Jewel after the two were spotted together in late 2023, clarifying during a Howard Stern interview that nothing romantic was going on.
