After Kevin Costner’s exit from Yellowstone, Luke Grimes has been open about losing contact with him. The series, which ran on Paramount from 2018, follows the Dutton family in Montana.

“I haven’t talked to him since he left. It’s not about hard feelings—he’s Kevin Costner. I have his number, but it’s not my place to reach out,” Grimes told Men’s Health in December 2024.

Costner responded, “No. We are done talking,” avoiding questions about the finale or contact with Grimes.

Grimes also reflected on filming without Costner: “He’s an icon, and not having him on set felt different. Honestly, part of Kevin being gone meant some conflict was gone—it was the easiest season we’ve filmed.”
