After Being Called ‘Impossible to Work With,’ Kevin Costner Finds Unusual Way to Cope
Kevin Costner Rumored to Clash With Co-Star on Set, Turns to Treasure Hunting Amid Hollywood Fallout
Rumors of behind-the-scenes drama are once again following Kevin Costner, with a recent report alleging a heated dispute between the actor and his Yellowstone co-star Wes Bentley that nearly became physical. The reported clash took place during filming of the hit Paramount Network series, when Costner — who not only played patriarch John Dutton but also served as an executive producer — disagreed with how a particular scene was being performed.
Sources claim Costner insisted that Bentley take a different approach than what was originally scripted by series creator Taylor Sheridan. Bentley allegedly pushed back, reminding Costner that he was there to make “a Taylor Sheridan show,” not one directed by his fellow cast member. Tensions reportedly flared, leading to a brief physical confrontation before crew members stepped in to break it up.
Witnesses say the altercation visibly upset actress Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, and production was temporarily halted following the incident.
The confrontation has only added fuel to ongoing reports portraying Costner as difficult on set. The Oscar winner has previously been accused of walkouts, creative disputes, and causing production delays — all of which have earned him the reputation of being “impossible” to work with, according to the outlet.
Frustrated by the negative attention, Costner has reportedly stepped away from Hollywood for the time being — and in a rather unexpected way. Sources say he’s currently spending time in the Caribbean, engaging in deep-sea diving in search of sunken treasure. Allegedly, Costner has even discovered gold coins and emeralds during his underwater adventures.
The Dances with Wolves star is now said to be exploring the possibility of turning his treasure-hunting escapades into a television series, centered around global treasure exploration. So far, however, no network or studio has officially signed on to support the project.
