“Bridget Moynahan to Be Honored with Special Recognition Following ‘Blue Bloods’ Departure: ‘Deeply Humbling'”
Bridget Moynahan Reflects on Life and Career as She Receives 2025 John F. Kennedy National Award
Bridget Moynahan is celebrating both her impressive career and personal milestones as she prepares to receive the prestigious 2025 John F. Kennedy National Award, presented by the St. Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke. The award, which honors those who exemplify the values of Irish culture and heritage, is a deeply meaningful recognition for Moynahan, whose upbringing in an Irish family greatly influenced her values.
“Growing up in an Irish family has shaped my values of resilience, family, and community — qualities I see celebrated so beautifully in the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade,” Moynahan shared with WWLP. “To be honored with the JFK Award is deeply humbling, as it represents not only a connection to my heritage but also a legacy of pride. I am grateful to the committee for this incredible recognition and proud to stand with those who celebrate Irish culture and history so vibrantly.”
The award will be presented during the JFK Awards Dinner, coinciding with St. Patrick’s Day festivities. This recognition comes shortly after Bridget announced her next project following the end of Blue Bloods in December 2024. The actress will star in California Skate, an indie film set in a 1970s roller rink. Bridget, who will also produce the film, stars alongside a talented cast that includes Brooke Shields, Jay Mohr, Henry Winkler, and Monique Coleman. The film, which explores the coming-of-age experiences of a group of teenagers, promises to be a nostalgic and heartfelt story about love, friendship, and self-discovery.
Although Blue Bloods wrapped up after 14 successful seasons, Bridget expressed that she believed the show still had more stories to tell. “I definitely think it could have gone on longer,” she told Parade in February 2024. “We were fortunate to tell stories about police officers, detectives, and the law through the lens of a family rooted in morals and values. It’s a voice that’s being lost now, and I think society will miss it.”
In the series finale, Bridget’s character, Erin Reagan, made a significant personal decision, announcing her intention to remarry her ex-husband, Jack Boyle. Meanwhile, the Reagan family dinner was enlivened by the news that Jamie and Eddie Reagan were expecting their first child, a heartwarming moment that captured the show’s legacy of family unity.
Looking ahead, Bridget is focused on her family and career. “I think until my son [Jack, 17, with ex-husband Tom Brady] graduates from high school, I’m not going anywhere,” she shared. As she continues to balance motherhood and her career, Bridget remains excited about her creative endeavors. She recently produced a short film, Swipe NYC, which garnered attention at film festivals, and she is eager to continue exploring opportunities in producing and directing.
With a career that spans multiple beloved roles and a personal life rooted in deep values, Bridget Moynahan continues to leave a lasting impact on both the entertainment industry and her community.
