According to a report by Closer, CBS executives are reportedly upset with Tom Selleck following his remarks about the cancellation of Blue Bloods. The 79-year-old actor has suggested that the show’s end could push him into financial hardship, potentially jeopardizing his cherished 63-acre ranch in Ventura County, where he has lived since 1988.
CBS Executives Skeptical of Selleck’s Financial Concerns
The Closer report indicates that CBS executives are not convinced by Selleck’s “poor house” claims. They are aware of the substantial earnings he has received from the show, reportedly making $200,000 per episode and accumulating $56 million over the series’ run, excluding residuals from reruns. The show, which began in fall 2010, has enjoyed 14 successful seasons.
CBS officials are particularly irked by Selleck’s comments given his significantly higher salary compared to other cast and crew members. Many of these individuals earn less than $100,000 annually and are facing financial uncertainty as the series concludes.
