CBS Executives Reportedly Frustrated by Tom Selleck’s “Poor House” Remarks on “Blue Bloods” Cancellation

CBS Executives Reportedly Upset Over Tom Selleck’s “Poor House” Comments After “Blue Bloods” Cancellation

According to a report by Closer, CBS executives are reportedly unhappy with Tom Selleck, star of “Blue Bloods,” following his remarks about the show’s cancellation. The 79-year-old actor has suggested that the end of the series could potentially send him into financial difficulties and lead to the loss of his cherished 63-acre ranch in Ventura County, where he has lived since 1988.

CBS Execs Dispute Selleck’s Financial Concerns

The Closer report highlights that CBS officials are skeptical of Selleck’s claims. They are well aware of his substantial earnings from “Blue Bloods,” with the actor reportedly earning $200,000 per episode and amassing around $56 million over the course of the show, not including residuals from reruns. Given that the show has been running since 2010 and concluded its 14th season, CBS executives find it hard to believe that Selleck is facing serious financial issues.

CBS executives are particularly displeased because Selleck’s salary far exceeds that of many other cast and crew members, who are earning significantly less. As the show ends, these individuals are dealing with more pronounced financial uncertainty.

Selleck’s Desire for “Blue Bloods” to Continue

Selleck has been vocal about his disappointment regarding the cancellation of “Blue Bloods.” Despite the show’s continued strong ratings and loyal fan base, he has publicly questioned the network’s decision to end the long-running drama.

There is still the possibility of a “Blue Bloods” spin-off or a movie, but Selleck’s recent comments may affect his involvement in future projects related to the series.

The final episodes of “Blue Bloods” will air on CBS beginning Friday, October 18 at 10 p.m. (ET), with the series finale scheduled for December.
