How Kevin Costner’s Costly Divorce Complicates Matters Further

Kevin Costner’s recent financial troubles seem compounded by his ongoing divorce from Christine Baumgartner. The couple, married for nearly 19 years, has reached a settlement requiring Costner to pay approximately $63,000 per month in child support for their three children: sons Cayden (16) and Hayes (14), and daughter Grace (13).

After beginning their relationship in 1998, Costner and Baumgartner wed at his Colorado ranch in 2004. However, their marriage faced challenges, leading Baumgartner to file for separation on April 11. In addition to child support, Costner also had to make a significant upfront payment to Baumgartner as part of the divorce agreement.

A source told Life & Style that while Costner is providing substantial financial support for his children, his film investments have been a heavy burden. “Kevin’s divorce wasn’t cheap, and he’s determined to see his film project, Horizon, through despite its rocky start.”

Despite facing these challenges, Costner remains committed to completing Horizon, understanding the financial risks involved. “He’s operating on a wing and a prayer,” the source said, “but he knows he’ll have to let go of some of his resources to make it happen. It’s going to be a tightrope walk, especially since Chapter 1 didn’t perform well.”

While Costner stays focused on his cinematic ambitions, balancing his artistic vision with his financial realities remains a difficult journey.
