“Inside Tom Selleck’s California Ranch: A Look at the ‘Blue Bloods’ Star’s Home”

Tom Selleck enjoys his tranquil 63-acre ranch in Ventura County, California, a serene retreat from the Hollywood hustle. The “Blue Bloods” star has spoken about how his beautiful estate offers him peace and a chance to connect with nature.

Exploring Tom Selleck’s Longtime California Ranch

Tom Selleck and his wife, Jillie Mack, purchased the property in 1988 for approximately $5 million, soon after he left “Magnum, P.I.” The estate, formerly owned by Dean Martin, features a Spanish colonial-style home and includes a tennis court, a pool, and a golf green.

“I’m a fairly private person,” Tom shared in April 2020 about his life away from the limelight. “I’ve always valued the balance between my work and family time. It’s all about them.”

Tom revealed that his ranch and personal relationships are key to his well-being. “My relationships and my ranch keep me sane,” he said.

Tom and Jillie raised their daughter, Hannah Selleck, on the farm, alongside Tom’s son, Kevin Selleck, from his previous marriage to Jacqueline Ray. The estate is adorned with over 1,500 trees and a variety of other plants.

Challenges on the Farm

Recently, the farm faced challenges due to severe drought, which devastated many crops, including avocado trees and over 20 oak trees.

“It’s heartbreaking,” Tom said in April 2024. “However, with the recent rainfall, the ailing plants are recovering, and there’s a lot of new growth.” Tom has developed a deep appreciation for planting and farming during his years on the property.

“I’ve been planting wildflowers for years,” he explained. “They bloom in cycles, and I enjoy watching them grow, even if it seems trivial.”

Reflecting on the Future of His Home

The announcement that “Blue Bloods” would conclude after its 14th season in 2024 was met with disappointment from fans.

“It doesn’t make sense to Tom that CBS decided to end ‘Blue Bloods’,” a source revealed in May 2024. “There are still many storylines to explore, and it feels premature.”

Tom expressed hope that the show might continue. “I’m hoping CBS will reconsider,” he said during a May 2024 interview with CBS Sunday Morning. “I also hope to keep working to maintain the ranch.”

He acknowledged the financial considerations involved. “If I stopped working, it would be a challenge,” he admitted. “I’m set for life, but maintaining a 63-acre ranch is another matter.”
