Is Kevin Costner Really Done with ‘Yellowstone’?
Kevin Costner has stirred up speculation with a recent comment suggesting that, despite previously bidding farewell to Yellowstone, he feels there’s still more story to explore for both himself and his character, John Dutton. In an interview with Hello! Magazine, Costner described Yellowstone as a “wonderful” part of his life and expressed his desire to complete the story, stating, “Some things have a way of circling back.” While he noted that he hasn’t seen a clear path returning, he remains open to revisiting the narrative, emphasizing, “That story is not finished.”
What Did Kevin Costner Say Previously About Yellowstone?
Back in June, Costner had confirmed through a social media video that he wouldn’t be returning to Yellowstone. This announcement came just hours after Paramount revealed the premiere date for the show’s final episodes. He explained that after spending 18 months on his epic Western project, Horizon: An American Saga, he simply didn’t have the time to continue with the series alongside creator Taylor Sheridan. Costner stated, “I realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5B or into the future. It was something that really changed me. I loved it… and I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning.”
However, his latest remarks have reignited hope among fans that John Dutton’s journey might not be over after all.
Yellowstone returns to Paramount on November 10th, with streaming on Paramount+ available the same day in Canada. For viewers in the U.K., the series will be available on the network’s streaming service on November 11, while releases for Latin America, Brazil, and France are scheduled for later in November.
