Is Kevin Costner Truly Finished with ‘Yellowstone’?
Kevin Costner keeps fans guessing about his future with “Yellowstone.” He expressed that his role as John Dutton has been “a wonderful part of [his] life,” and hinted to Entertainment Tonight that “some things have a way of circling back.” He added, “I haven’t seen that dust trail coming toward me, but I’ve always been open to what I started. Five seasons was a lot for us to do, and I think that story is not finished.”
Costner also noted that the narrative could continue, given the potential arcs of Dutton’s children.
In June, he announced his exit from the series via a social media video, stating he would “not be able to continue, Season 5B or into the future” due to his commitment to his Horizon Western epic.
Meanwhile, series stars Luke Grimes and Kelly Reilly have hinted at an exciting future for “Yellowstone.” Grimes suggested that fans can expect “a very, very profound, beautiful ending” in the Season 5, Part 2 finale, while Reilly praised the quality of the scripts, calling them “so good.” Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, also expressed his enthusiasm for continuing in a potential spinoff, stating, “It’s been a pleasure working with this cast and Taylor Sheridan; why would we stop a good thing? Let’s make it happen.”
“Yellowstone” Season 5, Part 2 premieres on November 10 on Paramount Network.
