Kevin Costner, 70, Shares His Next Big Bucket List Goals
After more than 40 years in Hollywood, Kevin Costner shows no signs of slowing down.
The Yellowstone star, now 70, is making it clear that retirement isn’t on his radar anytime soon.
“I don’t even think about retiring,” Costner recently shared. “I just move on to whatever next thing sparks my imagination.”
Although many might expect him to have a traditional “bucket list,” Costner dismissed the idea.
“I don’t really have a bucket list,” he explained. “I do have goals and dreams, but I don’t label them that way. My eyes and enthusiasm remain wide open.”
He went on to say, “I’ve loved life and thinking about what I can do next—what matters to me and to others. What gives me satisfaction? I go through that process and realize time’s ticking. It’s exciting to chase after those things.”
These remarks come alongside the release of Horizon: An American Saga, an ambitious Western series that Costner stars in, writes, directs, and finances. Chapter 1 premiered in June 2024, with Chapter 2 debuting earlier this year at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
Despite slower box office returns delaying a wide release, production on Chapter 3 is already in progress, with Chapter 4 on the way.
Back in 2019, when asked about retirement, Costner said, “I believe some of the best surprises are still ahead of me. As I enter the second half of my career, I’m focused on writing and new projects I want to pursue.”
He added, “My life is about much more than movies. I just happen to pop in and out of them. In between, I’m living my other life.”
