“Kevin Costner Advances Plans for Horizon: Chapter 3 and 4”?

With Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 now available on video-on-demand and Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 soon to debut at the Venice Film Festival, Kevin Costner is making significant strides on his ambitious project.

The plan for Horizon involves a series of four films, but the underwhelming box office performance of Chapter 1 has posed challenges for securing funding for the subsequent installments. Despite having already filmed some of Chapter 3, Costner’s self-funding approach means he still requires additional financial support to complete the series.

According to a recent NBC report, Costner has revised his initial schedule. Instead of starting production on Chapter 3 this winter, he now plans to shoot both Chapters 3 and 4 consecutively, pushing the production start to next year.

“I’ve already filmed a bit of the third chapter,” Costner shared, noting that he is considering beginning production on the remaining films next spring. “I’m deeply invested in this journey. It’s been the toughest project I’ve ever undertaken.”

He described Chapter 3 as “even harder than the first two” and emphasized that Chapter 4 will be the one to “complete the story.”

As Costner continues to seek the necessary funds, the release of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 remains uncertain. Originally slated for this month, its release has been postponed, with a winter premiere now looking more probable. Warner Bros has yet to announce a new release date.
