“Kevin Costner and One of His Most Cherished Co-Stars Reunite, and Fans Are Over the Moon”

Kevin Costner has shared the screen with many Hollywood legends throughout his career, from Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard to Morgan Freeman in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. But one of his most cherished collaborations was with Susan Sarandon in the 1988 film Bull Durham. In this beloved Ron Shelton-directed movie, Costner played veteran baseball player Crash Davis, while Sarandon portrayed Annie Savoy, the team’s longtime groupie.

Recently, nearly 36 years after their iconic film, Costner and Sarandon had a heartwarming reunion at the Venice Film Festival. The moment was captured in a photo shared on Instagram by Costner, who wrote, “There’s nothing like catching up with an old friend. Great to see you @susansarandon—we’ve come a long way since our Bull Durham days.”

In addition to their festival appearance, the duo attended the Better World Fund Gala on September 5, gracing the red carpet with Costner in a sharp three-piece suit and Sarandon in a striking plunging black dress with a statement belt.

At the gala, Sarandon was honored for her efforts in supporting women in film and globally, while Costner was recognized for his contributions to supporting women and humanity. In his speech, Costner reflected, “Speaking from Susan and myself, all we really hope is that we can make a difference, even if it’s the smallest one.” It’s clear that their bond extends far beyond their memorable film together.
