Kevin Costner Continues Casting Extras for ‘Horizon: An American Saga’

Ever dreamed of working alongside Kevin Costner in a movie? You’re not alone — who hasn’t imagined it? Now, that dream might be closer than you think.

While landing a starring role alongside Hollywood’s iconic cowboy takes a lot of work, you can still snag a small part in his upcoming film. Kevin Costner’s Western saga, Horizon: An American Saga, is currently casting extras for Chapter 3, filming on May 15, 2024, in Durango, Colorado.

If you’re a Colorado local or someone who loves visiting the area, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major film production. But before you rush to apply, here’s what you need to know.

The story is set during the pre- and post-Civil War era and centers around a family living the rugged “Old West” life. Extras will be dressed in authentic period costumes — think “corsets, heavy dresses, old-fashioned lace-up boots, and detailed hairstyling” for women, and “itchy wool jackets, layered clothing, and heavy boots” for men. So, get ready for a day in the shoes of an Old West character!

There are about 60 to 70 extra roles available, mostly for adults but with a few spots for children as well.

No Hollywood awards or cowboy skills are required — just the right look and attitude! Here’s what the casting team is looking for: men and women of all ethnicities, plus minors aged 13 and older (families are encouraged to apply!). You must be available on May 15, from mid-morning until late evening, and attend a wardrobe fitting before filming.

Keep in mind, there are some restrictions: no visible tattoos, no gauged earrings, no facial piercings, and no modern hairstyles or bleached hair.

If you fit the bill and are ready for a unique experience on set with Kevin Costner, this could be your chance to make movie magic!
