“Kevin Costner Describes ‘Backstabbing’ Feeling After Christine Baumgartner Divorce”

Kevin Costner is having a tough time after being blindsided by his divorce and seeing his ambitious project, Horizon: An American Saga, flop at the box office. The 69-year-old actor invested $38 million of his own money into the western film, and now he’s also facing a hefty $63,000 monthly child support payment to his ex, Christine Baumgartner, in addition to a substantial settlement she received.

Adding to his distress, an insider tells Life & Style that Christine, 50, may be getting engaged to Josh Connor, a former close friend of Kevin’s.

“Kevin feels like he’s been stabbed in the back,” the insider reveals. “He’s seeking closure but struggling to find it, especially as he hears about Christine’s newfound happiness.” (Kevin’s brief romance with singer Jewel also ended recently.)

The situation is made worse by the feeling that his money is funding their new life together. “It seemed toward the end that all he was to her was a source of funds, and it still feels that way,” the source adds.
