Kevin Costner Finds Strength in His Kids After Challenging Year

Kevin Costner Leaning on His Children After a Challenging Year

Kevin Costner has had a difficult year, marked by personal and professional challenges — including a high-profile divorce and career setbacks. However, through it all, his children have remained his greatest source of strength.

Following the end of his marriage to Christine Baumgartner — who filed for divorce in May 2023, with the split finalized in February 2024 — Costner has been relying heavily on his six children for support. A source close to the actor shared, “His kids from both ex-wives get along great and are banding together to take care of him, especially during the loneliness of the holidays. They’re keeping his spirits up.”

Costner shares three adult children — Annie (40), Lily (38), and Joe (36) — with his first wife, Cindy Silva. With Baumgartner, he has three teenage children: Cayden (17), Hayes (15), and Grace (14).

“Kevin always prioritized being a good father,” the source added. “He’d have his kids on set just to stay close to them, and now they’re giving that love and support back to him. They’re what’s keeping him going strong despite the adversity.”

After the divorce, Costner was briefly linked to singer Jewel, 50, though both have denied any romantic involvement.

Professionally, Costner announced in June that he would be leaving the hit series Yellowstone, citing scheduling conflicts with his long-time passion project Horizon. His departure reportedly led to tension with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan. Adding to the strain, Horizon underperformed at the box office, causing a financial setback for the actor-director.

Despite it all, Costner is finding strength in the support of his family — especially his children, who continue to stand by his side.
