Kevin Costner Hints at Major ‘Yellowstone’ Developments Ahead

It seems Kevin Costner is keeping the door open for a potential return to “Yellowstone.” Months ago, he announced he wouldn’t be back for the remainder of the fifth and final season, opting to focus on his new film series, “Horizon: An American Saga.” However, after a lackluster box office performance for the first film and an indefinite delay for the second, speculation about a comeback in the “Yellowstone” universe is growing.

Recent comments from Costner have fueled this speculation. He expressed fondness for his role as John Dutton, stating, “That’s been a wonderful part of my life, making Yellowstone. And, who knows? Sometimes things have a way of circling back. I haven’t seen that dust trail coming towards me, and I’ve always been open to what I started. Five seasons was a lot for us to do, and I think that story is not finished… Obviously, it can go on. I have children, so you make the story about them,” he shared with Entertainment Tonight.

This has sparked renewed hope among fans that he might return to conclude the story. Given the ongoing tensions between involved parties, a comeback seemed unlikely, but the recent comments have changed the narrative.

Additionally, Costner has a financial stake in returning. He invested nearly $40 million of his own money into “Horizon: Chapter 1,” which struggled at the box office. Meanwhile, he was earning about $1.3 million per episode on “Yellowstone,” making a return both appealing and potentially lucrative.

As “Yellowstone” gears up to return on November 10th for the start of season 5B, fans are eager to see if Costner will make an unexpected appearance. For now, anything is possible.
