Kevin Costner Hints at Possible Return to Yellowstone
Yellowstone Returns: A Look at Kevin Costner’s Possible Comeback
After a longer-than-expected hiatus, Yellowstone is set to return next month, but for the first time, it will be without its lead star, Kevin Costner.
The situation is murky, with conflicting accounts from CBS and show creator Taylor Sheridan suggesting Costner’s unavailability led to an 18-month delay. Costner, on the other hand, claims that script delays and scheduling shifts clashed with his plans for his Horizon film series.
As Yellowstone prepares to launch Season 5, Part Two, it’s confirmed that Costner will not be part of it. Paramount is framing this return as a new chapter for the show, with talks underway for a potential Season 6.
As for Costner’s future with the series, he has made two of the four Horizon films he has planned, which means his schedule is packed with fundraising and production. However, he hasn’t completely closed the door on a Yellowstone return. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, he expressed fondness for the series, saying, “That’s been a wonderful part of my life. Who knows? Sometimes things have a way of circling back.”
While he hasn’t burned any bridges, he acknowledged that current plans for the show do not include him. He remarked, “I haven’t seen that dust trail coming toward me,” but added, “I’ve always been open to what I started. The five seasons were a lot for us to do. I think that story is not finished.”
Whether the cast and crew would welcome him back remains to be seen. Yellowstone returns on November 10th, and fans will undoubtedly be eager to see what unfolds next.
