Kevin Costner in Discussions to Star in Aaron Sorkin’s ‘Molly’s Game’

Kevin Costner, known for Dances with Wolves, is reportedly in talks to join Aaron Sorkin’s directorial debut, Molly’s Game. The film is based on the memoir of Molly Bloom, a former Olympic-level skier who ran one of the most exclusive and high-stakes underground poker games for a decade. Her clientele included a mix of Hollywood celebrities, elite athletes, business moguls, and, unbeknownst to her, members of the Russian mafia. Eventually, Bloom’s operation was shut down by the FBI.

While Costner’s involvement has yet to be officially confirmed, he is expected to star alongside Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Idris Elba (Star Trek Beyond).

Molly’s Game was one of the hottest properties at last May’s Cannes Film Festival, with STX Entertainment securing the U.S. distribution rights. Filming is scheduled to begin next month.

Costner will also appear in Hidden Figures, set to release this December, a film already generating significant awards buzz for its talented cast.
