Kevin Costner is embracing a new chapter. According to recent reports, the 70-year-old actor is back in the dating world, more than a year after finalizing his divorce from Christine Baumgartner, his wife of 19 years.
Sources close to the star say Costner has been open to meeting new people, with his inner circle—friends and even his agent—helping him get set up. “Kevin’s been having his agent introduce him to women,” one insider shared, adding that his search for a new partner actually began last spring.
Reportedly, Costner is not interested in dating within Hollywood. “Kevin doesn’t like dating actresses or people from the industry. He prefers someone more grounded and down-to-earth,” a source explained. “He has people trying to set him up, but he’s not rushing anything.”
For now, Costner seems to be enjoying the process, while juggling a packed work schedule and time with his children. “2025 is about focusing on new projects and carving out space for his personal life,” the insider continued. “He wants to get out more and is hopeful he’ll meet the right person. Reflecting on the Past
Costner and Baumgartner finalized their divorce in February 2024 after a lengthy and complicated legal battle that included negotiations over child support and prenuptial agreements. The former couple shares three children: Cayden (17), Hayes (16), and Grace (14).
During court proceedings, Costner expressed the emotional toll of the split, telling Access Hollywood, “It feels so bad. We’re talking about somebody I love on the other side.”
In addition to his three children with Baumgartner, Costner has four older children—Annie (40), Lily (38), Joe (37), and Liam (28)—from previous relationships.
Meanwhile, Christine Baumgartner has also moved on. In January 2025, she announced her engagement to financier Josh Connor. The couple reportedly got engaged during a beachside proposal and are surrounded by the support of friends and family. “They’re both over the moon and excited for their future together,” a source shared.
