“Kevin Costner of ‘Yellowstone’ Shares His View on Preserving America”

Kevin Costner Seizes Every Chance to Celebrate America

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Kevin Costner, known for his role in “Field of Dreams,” shared his views on what the Fourth of July means to him and why it’s such a significant day.

“For me, it’s a time to reflect on America’s journey and what came before it,” Costner said. “There’s something valuable to protect and celebrate here.”

He emphasized that putting personal ego aside is crucial for protecting the nation. “We won’t be able to safeguard anything if we prioritize our own egos,” he said. “We need to focus on what’s best for the country, not on the next four years or individual ambitions. It has to be about addressing what’s broken and our place in the world.”

Costner believes that true leadership requires a “very evolved personality” capable of setting aside personal interests for the greater good. He suggested that the country might benefit from having “a woman” in a leadership role.

His latest film, “Horizon: An American Saga,” reflects his deep love for American history. The film explores the expansion of the American West and acknowledges the darker aspects of history, including the struggles of Native Americans. “You can’t fully tell the story without confronting that reality,” Costner told Entertainment Weekly in May 2024. “We must remember that the people who were here long before us faced immense challenges.”

Costner was so dedicated to the film’s success that he invested over $20 million of his own money to ensure it reached a wide audience. Alongside Costner, the film features a star-studded cast including Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jeff Fahey, Will Patton, Tatanka Means, Owen Crow Shoe, and Ella Hunt.

In addition to his professional dedication, Costner used the film project as an opportunity to spend more time with his children, casting two of them in minor roles.
