Kevin Costner Opens Up About Yellowstone Finale and Rumored Feud with Luke Grimes
Kevin Costner recently addressed rumors of a feud with his Yellowstone co-star Luke Grimes during an outing in Aspen earlier this week. The 69-year-old actor shared his thoughts about the controversial finale of the hit Western drama, while also touching on his relationship with Grimes.
When asked about the Yellowstone finale, Costner, who plays John Dutton, revealed he hasn’t given it much thought. “I’m not even thinking about that. I don’t think I’ve given it any thought,” he said. “So, we’ll just let it go,” he added, avoiding any detailed discussion about the show’s conclusion.
Regarding his relationship with Luke Grimes, who portrays Kayce Dutton on the series, Costner was brief. “No. We’re done talking,” he stated. His comments came amid reports of tension between the two actors following Costner’s unexpected departure from the show during the fifth season’s production.
Grimes, 40, spoke about the situation on Tuesday, revealing that they haven’t been in contact since. “I haven’t talked to him since,” he confirmed. However, he emphasized that there are no hard feelings, saying, “It’s not a case of any hard feelings or anything. It’s just, he’s Kevin Costner.” Calling Costner “a big deal,” Grimes added, “I do have his phone number — I just don’t feel like it’s my place to reach out. He can reach out to me if he wants to.”
After Costner’s sudden exit from Yellowstone, rumors circulated that his departure was due to a fallout with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan. Grimes dismissed those claims, saying, “None of us saw it coming the way it did, and obviously there was news about possible blowups behind the scenes or whatever. But just like in life, man, these things happen, they happen fast, and they’re not predictable.”
