“Kevin Costner Responds to Dating Rumors Involving Jewel”

Kevin Costner is setting the record straight about his personal life, particularly regarding recent rumors suggesting a romance with singer Jewel.

On this week’s episode of “The Howard Stern Show,” Costner addressed the speculation surrounding their relationship, firmly denying that they are dating. “Jewel and I are friends. We’ve never gone out together,” Costner clarified.

He went on to emphasize the value of their friendship, saying, “She’s special to me, and I don’t want these rumors to jeopardize what we have.” Costner also praised Jewel, noting, “She’s beautiful enough to date,” but reiterated that their connection remains platonic.

The rumors seem to have stemmed from a recent trip to Necker Island, Richard Branson’s private retreat, where both Costner and Jewel were present. Jewel was on the island for her charity work with The Inspiring Children Foundation. Costner explained that Branson had long invited him to visit, and he finally accepted the offer after his recent divorce. The group consisted of nine people, including Emma Watson and several others, not just Costner and Jewel as some speculated.

Costner made it clear that their time together was purely friendly. “The press has misconstrued things. Jewel and I have had conversations and texted, and we have a genuine friendship,” he said. “But we’re not romantically involved. She’s everything you might think, but we’ve never dated.”

Costner finalized his divorce from his ex-wife Christine in February, following her initial filing in May 2023. The couple was married for 19 years.
